It has always been a project by one - John Morris (of Beauregard Parish Library). It was the first - it cannot match the release times of projects such as CentOS because it is one guy but I definitely trust him to do a good job. Drawbacks are getting big...few mirrors, slow to release updates, poorly maintained mail list. To be certain - Whiteboxlinux may seem to you to be dead - it is in fact, what it is has always been. John Morris - THE MAIN GUY - THE ONLY GUY - has not turned anything over to anyone. ---- > > b) Going from FC2 to RHEL3 (RH9 based) is a big step backwards, some > kind of a downgrade regarding software versions and kernel version. ---- agreed ---- > > If it is a server the OP might consider switching over to CentOS 4 > (RHEL4 clone and FC3 based). He may too simply upgrade to FC3 and later > to FC4 ... ---- CentOS 4 is repackage of RHEL 4 - it implies nothing of Fedora that isn't implied by RHEL 4 Craig
