Thanks for telling me about the right key - rpm -q on that one has meant that the kernel will install now. What has gpg-pubkey-6b8d79e6-3f49313d (Dag's GPG key) got to do with key ID 4f2a6fd2?
gpg-pubkey-4f2a6fd2-3f9d9d3b (the Fedora GPG key) is the one you should be looking for.
kernel-2.6.5-1.358.i686.rpm is the FC2 base kernel by the way, not the FC3 one.
Paul.
I'm installing the FC2 kernel as per the guidance on here: https://www.olen.net/node/194 - hopefully I'll be up to FC3 by the end of the day now :o)
One final question though - why did it not appear to work until I had successfully done rpm -q with the correct key name? I thought that just checked if it was installed? Before when I tried all I got (as said in my first mail) was:
[root@az downloads]# rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.5-1.358.i686.rpm
error: kernel-2.6.5-1.358.i686.rpm: V3 DSA signature: BAD, key ID 4f2a6fd2 error: kernel-2.6.5-1.358.i686.rpm cannot be installed
Cheers,
James.
