Remote displaying a "session"

I've been using Xvnc via the vncserver service and it is quite nice.  I 
like having a complete session as opposed to a single application. 
However, vncserver is a "client-pull" application in the sense that the 
client machine must run VNC viewer to access the remote Xvnc session. 
Now I would like to "throw" an Xvnc session to a remote X display.  And 
it would be even better still if I could do this in a secured fashion. 
So I have two questions:

1) Can this be done?

2) How?
