I notice the following in the logs (these are three separate mails): /var/log/maillog.1:Feb 22 21:56:29 smtp postfix/smtp[10311]: E90DC2FC197: to=<fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx>, relay=mx3.redhat.com [66.187.233.32], delay=12, status=deferred (host mx3.redhat.com [66.187.233.32] said: 451 4.7.1 greylisted for 30 minutes and0 seconds. (in reply to end of DATA command)) greylisted for 9 minutes and 32 seconds. (in reply to end of DATA command) greylisted for 9 minutes and 27 seconds. (in reply to end of DATA command)) While I understand the basics of greylisting, I cannot figure out how the variable delay is being calculated. Doesn't 30 minutes (plus the SMTP delay) seem like a VERY long greylist deferral? On a related note, they seem to be fixing what weren't broke (unless some of the other lists have more serious spam problems). The cost is in spontaneity. ------------------------------------------------- ++++OT and PLEASE DON'T START A THREAD: I'd like to SUGGEST that those who are willing to do so, link to - or copy - "The Boulder Pledge."
