For what it's worth, I recently did an install on a PowerEdge 2850, and I had to manually select the LSI RAID adapter. Perhaps that's what the install is looking for on your server.

Totally different RAID controller. The one he is dealing with is on a machine which was released back around 1998-1999.


The AMI (now LSI) controller back then was ther PERC2, and support for it (and therefore drivers for Linux 2.6) has been dropped by LSI.
