Whilst that does the job, it also does a whole lot more, building a full set of install CDs. I was looking for something a bit simpler, just enhancing the boot.iso to incorporate a tweaked/different kernel but leaving the main set of install CDs unchanged.


Maybe that's not a viable option though, as the original unmodified kernel package would get installed and would presumably leave an unbootable system, so a modified rescue CD would be needed too in order to install the updated kernel on the target system post-installation.
