Are you sure it's an Adaptec RAID controller? That server came with AMI
PERC controllers which are separate from the on-board AIC78XX controllers.
The AMI PERC controllers are not supported in FC3 - the manufacturer AMI, now LSI discontinued support of them.

That's probably correct as I also see the reference to American Mega Trends (?) megaraid and PERC. I hate to think that this machine has reached the end of its life (RH8). Does anyone know of a drivers disk for this or some other solution?
Unplug the SCSI cable from the PERC controller and plug it into the onboard Adaptec controller (there's a SCSI port on the motherboard). Use software RAID (which is so near the speed of hardware RAID on that old machine as to be indistinguishable).
