Hi, Im new to linux, and just installed Fedora Core 3.
Im trying to install some programs (RealPlayer for example), and Im getting this message:
error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Can anyone help me ?
You need to install the package libstdc++ # yum install libstdc++
Actually its:
# yum install compat-libstdc++
[root@asterix ~]# rpm -qf /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5 compat-libstdc++-8-3.3.4.2
You're right of course; I carelessly ran "rpm -qf /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5" in a terminal window in which I'd ssh'ed into a Red Hat 9 box and thus I got the wrong package. Whoops.
