Up2date doesn't use any yum code. It can hower use either of the
following repositories.

  - yum repository
  - apt repository
  - rhn channel [aka RHEL]

Internally both up2date & yum invoke rpm [via rpm's python bindings].

But yum seem not compatible with system-config-packages. Do the up2date also ?
