Well, my experience is with the 310, which is not a very good camera 
IMO.  But in the spcagui or spcaview utils, there is the ability to 
capture a snapshout.  These devices don't appear to be filesystem 
based devices, but just a streaming src of video, to be captured, or 
dumped into that big bit bucket behind the table as the case might 
be.  How they would function as standalone, store the pix till 
download filesystem containing devices is something I've no 
experience with.
