Now what could be the problem when I set kppp to PAP  I still get an exit 
status 1

What is wrong with this config?

to authenticate itself

to the internet)
Feb 13 11:41:30 chadlap pppd[7673]: but I couldn't find any suitable secret 
(password) for it to use to do so.

it use an IP address.)
