rpm to compile, gcc

I just get errors regarding gcc. I installed libstdc++-devel-3.4.2-6.fc3.i386.rpm thinking that was gcc.

which rpm has gcc, assuming that's what's required?

[root@localhost linux-2.6.10]# make oldconfig
/usr/src/linux-2.6.10/scripts/gcc-version.sh: line 11: gcc: command not found
/usr/src/linux-2.6.10/scripts/gcc-version.sh: line 12: gcc: command not found
