No go here. Have to use ide=nodma.

Have had FC2 and RHWS on these machines. Only things I've changed are dual CPU from 266 to 300. Video cards are now 16MB AGP instead of 128MB AGP. I am starting to suspect the ISE SB16ProII may be the problem at IRQ 5, DMA and DRQ 1.

The motherboards are GemLite P6LIDK that have these features (from Manual):

Processor
• Intel Dual Pentium II series.
• The mainboard can run with following speeds: 233, 266, 300 and 333MHz
Chipset
• Intel i82443LX (PCI A.G.P. Controller)
• Intel 82371AB (PCI ISA IDE Xcelerator)
• Winbond W83977TF (Super I/O Controller)
• Adaptec AIC-7880 (SCSI Controller)
Main Memory
• Memory configurations up to 512MB SDRAM or 1GB EDO.
• DIMM socket for SDRAM (3.3V unbuffered).
• Support both Synchronous DRAM and Extended Data Output (EDO) Mode DRAM Modules.
• ECC Function ensure data correction and integrity.
Multi I/O
• On board Multi-I/O supports two serial, one parallel ports and floppy drive controller.
• Serial ports are 16550 Fast UART compatible.
• Parallel port has EPP and ECP capabilities.
• PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse connector is provided.
• IrDA supported.
• USB supported. Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) Interface
• A.G.P. specification compliant
• A.G.P. 66/133MHz devices supported
PCI IDE
• On board supports PCI Master IDE Controller, two connectors support up to four IDE
devices such as HDD, CD ROM drive and Tape Back-up drives, etc.
• PCI Master IDE controller supports PIO Mode 3 and 4 devices, I/O data transfer rate can be
up to 16.6MB/s.
• Ultra DMA Mode supported. Transfer rate can be up to 33MB/s.

In addition to the video and SB cards have 2 D-Link 530TX and 1 LinkSys 100TX NIC cards in each machine. The plan is to bond the D-Link cards between the two servers (192.168.3) for quicker mirroring/updates. The LinkSys cards go out to a switch (192.168.1) and through a another computer (PIII550MHz RHWS9 or FC3) running a firewall to the internet router (192.168.0). Have done this before and the only difference I can figure would matter are the SB16ProII ISA cards.

God Bless,

If you think it's a hardware problem, I'd say yank everything but the video card and try the installation again.

Also, are you sure that you set any jumpers correctly on the mobo when you changed the CPU?
