Anyway, the first step in diagnosing this problem: is the crash happening for all users, or just one? If just one, I'd suspect a permissions error in the ~/.mozilla directory. Permissions errors are one of the biggest causes of crashes that just start happening for no explicable reason. Editing a user's file as root, for example, can cause this, because you might create a new file that will belong to root and thus not accessible to other users.
