The error message I get is "drive error" that is it. Then the cd does not spin up or anything like it usually does when you try to open it. What does it mean? 1) what exactly does the error message say? 2) Do you have an audio cable running from the CD-Player to the sound card? My understanding, which may be out-of-date, is that this cable is still required in Linux. Usually, when #2 is the only problem, the disc queues and begins playing, you just can't hear anything (unless you plug headphones into the jack on the front of the drive. So probably you have some other issue, too. --Matt -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list
