AFAIK, "write to CD" will dump the .ISO file into the CD-R as a file, not as an image. Thus, you'll end up with a nice .ISO file sitting into your CD-R.
No, this actually will burn the image to disk and not the image.iso to disk. I use this option a lot to burn CDs from image.
Now, dragging and dropping the same file into the burn window will make the one file appear on the disk.
