Did you READ the keystroke menu? One of those will allow you to go ahead with the installation :) Linux's GUIs weren't added until only a couple years ago - Linux has been more or less a text-based OS. So some of the install will be text-based.
I always thought a "couple" was two. I recall having X way back in 1994 with SLS Linux...
