I downloaded FC3-i386-SRPMS-disc1.iso and discs 2,3,4 onto E:\, or hda2 on linux. I'd like to try working from the source :)
I've been unable to find the first step to doing this. I put the boot cd cd in and selected "ask method" but couldn't get anywhere, since I suppose the SRPMS work different from the regular FC3-i386-disc1.iso type images. (Of course, I checked the md5 sums).
So, what's the first step to installing from FC3-i386-SRPMS-disc1.iso when it's on hda2, with win2k on hda1, please? I've googled without result on this.
You can't install from the sources. Fedora doesn't work like gentoo. The SRPMS are there so that you can build your own, possibly tweaked, packages, but the SRPMS discs can't be used for installation. You'll need to get the binary ISOs for that.
