At work we're locked-in to a couple major systems (collections management--we're a museum; donor management) that are Windows-only. But I've been Linux-only for over a year and I use a Windows terminal server when I need to administer those systems. At home I only use Windows for games, and rarely at that. Wine works sometimes and I don't play games with much dedication. It's the apps. Do you need to use any apps that are Windows-only? If so, do they work in Wine? Pretty much every windows-only app has a Linux compatible competitor, so we're talking mainly about existing apps to which you have a prior commitment. So I would say, if you can't think of a reason you need Windows now, there probably won't be a reason in future. On the other hand, if you have a legal Windows license, why give it up? You don't have to use it.
