TIA, Don Raikes
Hello,
I posted a somewhat vague question earlier, so here are teh details.
I just purchased a new pc pentium IV 3.0ghz and it came with a 10/100/1000 NIC onboard the motherboard.
I installed fc3 kernel 2.6.10-1.741_FC3 on it.
Fedora is not recognizing the NIC at all.
I did lspci and got the following informatin:
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd.: Unknown device 4361 (rev 17)
I googled for Marvell technology group and discovered that I should be using teh sk98lin driver, so I added teh following to my /etc/modprobe.conf file:
alias eth0 sk98lin
I then did a rmmod eth0 rmmod sk98lin modprobe eth0
I got no response to any of these commands. Next I tried: ifconfig eth0 and got: eth0: error fetching interface information: device not found
I also did a modinfo on sk98lin and got:
filename: /lib/modules/2.6.10-1.741_FC3spksmp/kernel/drivers/net/sk98lin/sk98lin.ko
author: Mirko Lindner <mlindner@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
description: SysKonnect SK-NET Gigabit Ethernet SK-98xx driver
license: GPL
vermagic: 2.6.10-1.741_FC3spksmp SMP 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4
depends:
srcversion: 511B14479B0351A2F2C3D8C
I did go to syskonnect.com and download their latest sk98lin driver and tried to install it, but it generates an error while trying to compile:
/tmp/Sk98IIMnMPGPmRfmACgkTUacZ/all/sky2.c:1519: warning: implicit declaration of function `pci_dma_sync_single'
I'm now stumped. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
