I am logged as `su' and I can't detect SCSI host AHA1542.
After command `modprobe aha1542' I got `command not found'.

When I am logged as `root' it works.

Chris, switching a terminal session from user logon to superuser or root through the commands

$ su
$ password

is apparently not the same thing as

$ su -
$ password

To execute the modprobe aha1542 command, switch from user to root by using the su - command
