Trying to use Fedora-3 cyrus-imapd on whiteboxlinux (RHEL-3 clone).
cyrus-imapd not available on RHEL-3 - default is uw-imap

Several weeks ago I downloaded and did rebuild of source rpm from
Fedora-3 for cyrus-imapd and got a number of rpm's to install.

# ls -l RPMS/i386/
total 8572
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6497930 Jan 15 11:34 cyrus-
imapd-2.2.10-3.fc3.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 267714 Jan 15 11:34 cyrus-imapd-
devel-2.2.10-3.fc3.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 828517 Jan 15 11:34 cyrus-imapd-
murder-2.2.10-3.fc3.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 584236 Jan 15 11:34 cyrus-imapd-
nntp-2.2.10-3.fc3.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 160682 Jan 15 11:34 cyrus-imapd-
utils-2.2.10-3.fc3.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 390522 Jan 15 11:34 perl-
Cyrus-2.2.10-3.fc3.i386.rpm

OK so far so good - so I try to install and I get an error

# rpm -ivh *
error: Failed dependencies:
        cyrus-imapd conflicts with imap-2002d-9

OK - I get that but I really want to keep uw-imap running while I figure
out cyrus-imap (and I am gonna have to go through torture of converting
mbox to maildir - where better to fool with this but on my own box?)

so I want more info...
# rpm -ivvh *
<much snippage>
D: opening db index /var/lib/rpm/Conflictname rdonly mode=0x0
D: read h# 622 Header V3 DSA signature: OK, key ID 73307de6
D: Conflicts: cyrus-imapd YES (added
provide)
D: package imap-2002d-9 has unsatisfied Conflicts: cyrus-imapd

and this appears to be the only problem - so I'm thinking that I might
be able to sort of force the issue.

Anybody got suggestions? Before I exercise the big bad sledgehammer to a
perfectly well running system?

Craig
