Not really an issue, as long as you don't have 'gadget' hardware- things like Televisions connected by USB, firewire printers, that kinda thing. If you can get your network card connected to the router/firewall/cable modem (or whatever you have) you can be almost guaranteed a functioning Linux box in an hour or so, on the net.
