That's what I did first. But the change just didn't stick: when I restarted the machine, this service didn't restart as it should.


Uh, did you use the "save" option before rebooting?

Command line command:

    chkconfig --levels 2345 yum on

I was using the GUI, and it didn't give me the "save" option. (The button was shaded.)
