Two things... First, this might mean that it was unable to connect to
the site to download the respond.xml file that it needs and that no
mirrors were set up in your configuration. If that is the case, I
would suggest waiting a few minutes and trying it again, as this is
usually just a temporary error.

Second, you can run "yum clean all" which will wipe out your cached
yum information. Then next time you run yum update, it can start fresh
and rebuild it's cache again. If the problem you are having is with a
bad file in your cache, that might help.
