How well does CentOS and other RHEL clones stack up toe the real thing. Do people use them as production enviornment replacements? I have often wondered.

SNIP -- People that do not need Red Hat support, but want longer release lifetime (measured in years, instead of months) do use them extensivly in production. Updates are done very quickly after Red Hat updates (within a day or two usually). If you feel update is so critical that you can't wait a day or two, you can donwload SRPM from Red Hat web site and rebuild the package yourself.
