Subject: Mysql 4.1 on FC2
Hello guys.
A friend of mine just hired a dedicated hosting solution which uses FC2, but the site he hosts requires mysql 4.
Searching the archives , I noticed that there are two options: using the packages from development and the packages from mysql.com. So , what is the most reccomended solution ?
I'm more tempted to use the packages from devel, since it's a package made for FC (even being unstable).
Any comments on which package is better?? Any problems I can expect from the installation of mysql 4 on a pristine FC2 system?
Thx -- Pedro Macedo
When I went to MySQL training, the guy from MySQL AB running the class said that they compile their RPMs using the Intel compiler which is supposed to make it significantly faster. YMMV.
