A few 'hints' to the autolayout would be a big help for the multi-drive situation: maybe some checkboxes for '/home on it's own drive', '/var on it's own drive', 'RAID1 mirror all partitions to the next adjacent drive', and maybe even 'make the partitions in the order they were assigned'.
