That is just a blank screen with prompt at which you can > type: fdisk /dev/hdax I've seen it happen if the monitor settings are wrong that the top line with the prompt has moved off-screen. However, most people will probably press enter a couple of times when they are getting impatient, so then the prompt will eventually show up. David Jansen
