Hi, On my FC2 machine at boot time I get a message about ntpd starting which says OK and then following that I get a message that say it couldn't sync with the time servers. /etc/ntp/ntpservers has the following: clock.redhat.com clock1.redhat.com clock2.redhat.com Are these servers known to be good or are there others that would be better for me to sync with in Northern California? (Or is this something else entirely like a firewall problem, etc.?) Stripping out a few messages I found in /var/log/messages: Jan 17 08:02:52 Godzilla ntpdate[1903]: cap_set_proc failed. Jan 17 08:02:52 Godzilla ntpd: failed Jan 17 08:02:52 Godzilla ntpd[1908]: ntpd 4.2.0@xxxxxxxx Thu Mar 11 11:46:39 EST 2004 (1) Jan 17 08:02:52 Godzilla ntpd: ntpd startup succeeded Jan 17 08:02:52 Godzilla ntpd[1908]: precision = 2.000 usec Jan 17 08:02:53 Godzilla ntpd[1908]: kernel time sync status 0040 Jan 17 08:02:53 Godzilla ntpd[1908]: frequency initialized 2.328 PPM from /var/lib/ntp/drift Jan 17 08:02:53 Godzilla ntpd[1908]: configure: keyword "authenticate" unknown, line ignored Jan 17 08:02:53 Godzilla ntpd[1908]: cap_set_proc failed.
