Not sure this is the right answer but by "dmesg" I got this info:

sata_via
ata1: SATA max UDMA/133
ata2: SATA max UDMA/133

scsi1: sata_via
Vendor: ATA Model: ST380013AS
Type: Direct Access

Is there other specific command I should use to discover the disk
controller ?

By using "lspci":

IDE Interface: VIA technologies, Inc VT82C586A/B/VT82C686/A/B/VT823x/A/C
PICC Bus Master IDE (rev 06)
PCI Bridge: VIA Techcnologies, Inc VT8237

My machine is an AthlonXP 2600+

Any suggestions ?

Thanks, Alberto
