Is there a reason for the hardware solution?  I run one server for a
large corp that insisted that all drives be mirrored.  So I just set
up the two drives in the system, and configured the raid on install.
Its actually quite simple, then you can use standard Linux tools (such
as Webmin) to monitor the raid.
