Hello, Everyone :) I am continuing to have the problem that is referred to in the following message from this list: http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-December/msg06690.html Of course I would love to have some insight into what is actually causing my external, USB 2 CD burner to dissappear for reasons that I know not of. But the purpose of this thread is to find out if there is a way I can reset something so that I can get my cdburner back without rebooting. Also, here are the latest references to this issue from /var/log/messages: Jan 4 01:22:36 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: scsi: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery: host 0 channel 0 id 0 lun 0 Jan 4 01:22:36 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: usb 1-6: usb disconnect, address 4 Jan 4 20:49:37 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: usb 1-6: control timeout on ep0in Jan 4 20:50:00 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff last message repeated 4 times Jan 4 20:50:01 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff crond(pam_unix)[4036]: session opened for user root by (uid=0) Jan 4 20:50:01 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff crond(pam_unix)[4038]: session opened for user root by (uid=0) Jan 4 20:50:01 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff crond(pam_unix)[4038]: session closed for user root Jan 4 20:50:01 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff crond(pam_unix)[4036]: session closed for user root Jan 4 20:50:05 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: usb 1-6: control timeout on ep0in Jan 4 20:50:40 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff last message repeated 7 times Jan 4 20:51:45 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff last message repeated 13 times Jan 4 20:52:15 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff last message repeated 6 times Jan 4 20:52:15 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: scsi: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery: host 0 channel 0 id 0 lun 0 Jan 4 20:52:15 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: scsi error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x50000 Jan 4 20:52:15 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: scsi0 (0:0): rejecting I/O to offline device Jan 4 20:52:15 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff last message repeated 9 times Jan 4 20:52:15 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: usb 1-6: usb disconnect, address 4 Jan 4 20:52:15 x1-6-00-c0-f0-55-7c-ff kernel: VFS: busy inodes on changed media.
