Yes, that is what ESX or GSX are for... We're using it at work quite 
extensivly. It works great and has a ton of features above workstation, you 
should really look into it.

But since that was not your question - we have quite successfully faked it 
with Xvnc. You run one Xnvc for each VMWare you want to run and then access 
it either through vnc or terminal services. It works very well since the Xvnc 
server has been incredibly stable in my experience and since it runs in 
memory, speed is also pretty nice.
