Bittorrent is a P2P download system. My experiences with it have been quite positive, but I have heard plenty of contrary opinions.
Simply go to: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/bittorrent/BitTorrent-3.4.2.exe?download
to get a copy from your favorite mirror. Then go to: http://torrent.dulug.duke.edu/
Click on your favorite version and go.
When I do this, I usually create a 3-5GB partition on the hardrive and download the dvd iso image directly into that partition (windows sees these as drives). You can then mount the first (and only in the case of the dvd) .iso image, and look into the root directory for a subdirectory called images. Look for the disk iso image and place it on a flash stick. Reboot from the flash stick, and tell it where the iso is. Your system will not only install, but remember that location if you ever decide to add more software later.
Welcome to Linux. You will find that support via newsgroups like this will usually be more complete and accurate that the crap you have been paying for all these years.
Good Luck
