Machine won't power off with 2.6.9-1.6_FC2 kernel

After upgrading to the new FC2 kernel (2.6.9-1.6_FC2)
my machine doesn't power off when it is shut down.
Not even /sbin/poweroff turns off power. If I run the
old kernel, everything works fine. Any hints or
suggestions?
