Good Day! I have been using a Palm V for five years and I just purchased a Palm Tungsten E. I have been syncing the Palm V with Evolution with no problems. However, I can't seem to figure out how to get the Tungsten to sync. I created a symbolic link for /dev/pilot linking it to /dev/ttyUSB1. Using pilot-xfer, I determined that I could see the Palm on this device. Using the gnome pilot settings, I can get the Palm's user name and id from the device when I click the "Get from pilot" button. So, it is talking. However, after I get the pilot setting configured, I can't get it to sync. Here's what I see in the log: > Dec 28 01:59:36 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 2 > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for Generic > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: usbcore: registered new driver usbserial_generic > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: usbcore: registered new driver usbserial > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial Driver core v2.0 > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for Handspring Visor / Palm OS > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for Sony Clie 3.5 > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for Sony Clie 5.0 > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: visor 1-1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0 > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1 > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: usbcore: registered new driver visor > Dec 28 01:59:38 giseburt kernel: drivers/usb/serial/visor.c: USB HandSpring Visor / Palm OS driver v2.1 > Dec 28 01:59:40 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: control timeout on ep0in > Dec 28 01:59:41 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 2 > Dec 28 01:59:41 giseburt kernel: visor ttyUSB0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0 > Dec 28 01:59:41 giseburt kernel: visor ttyUSB1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1 > Dec 28 01:59:41 giseburt kernel: visor 1-1:1.0: device disconnected > Dec 28 01:59:59 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 3 > Dec 28 01:59:59 giseburt kernel: visor 1-1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected > Dec 28 01:59:59 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0 > Dec 28 01:59:59 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1 > Dec 28 02:00:10 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 3 > Dec 28 02:00:10 giseburt kernel: visor 1-1:1.0: device disconnected > Dec 28 02:00:46 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 4 > Dec 28 02:00:47 giseburt kernel: visor 1-1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected > Dec 28 02:00:47 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB2 > Dec 28 02:00:47 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB3 > Dec 28 02:01:02 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 4 > Dec 28 02:01:02 giseburt kernel: visor ttyUSB2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB2 > Dec 28 02:01:02 giseburt kernel: visor ttyUSB3: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB3 > Dec 28 02:01:02 giseburt kernel: visor 1-1:1.0: device disconnected > Dec 28 02:01:08 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 5 > Dec 28 02:01:08 giseburt kernel: visor 1-1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected > Dec 28 02:01:08 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB2 > Dec 28 02:01:08 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB3 > Dec 28 02:01:25 giseburt kernel: usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 5 > Dec 28 02:01:25 giseburt kernel: visor ttyUSB2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB2 > Dec 28 02:01:25 giseburt kernel: visor ttyUSB3: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB3 > Dec 28 02:01:25 giseburt kernel: visor 1-1:1.0: device disconnected Why is the Palm changing from being attached to USB0/USB1 to USB2/USB3? I have been searching through the archives, but I haven't found my answer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Jim James A.
