Thanks for all your help. I did the "yum update" and rebooted my machine and now all the graphics display works fine.

Another way to get the i810 driver working is to boot into run level 3 and
add the statement Option "NoAccel" at the end of the "Device" section in your
new xorg.conf (the file that replaces XF86Config-4. This changes the graphics
refresh personality so that the 810 does not refresh at inappropriate moments
and cause the blank screen, vertical colored lines or character salad.
If you boot with grub, you can edit the line that begins with "kernel" to add
a 3 at its end and then let the boot proceed.
After adding that one statement to my i810 system yesterday, everything
worked fine.
