slmodemd dead but subsys locked

Hi people,

I tried getting a script (slmodemd) to run at startup by putting it in
system-config-services but when I reboot it says "slmodemd dead but
subsys locked". When I try and activate it again, it works! I just
can't get it to load at boot. No error messages occur at boot though.

I've also tried putting the path to the script in /etc/rc.d/rc.local
but that doesn't work either.

The script worked in Fedora 2 but I can't remember how I got it to
work. I am now running Fedora 3.

Is there any easy way (I'm a bit of a newbie) I can fix this problem
and get my script to load up properly during startup? There seems to
be no problem with the script once I am in Fedora.
