However, if the drive makes a loud "clack-clack" noise like the hard drive heads hard parking, this can be a sign that the drive is failing.  If the noise sounds like a "click-click-click" noise, it could be the hard drive recalibrating due to temperature changes.  In any case, a good, verifiable, recent hard drive data backup is always a good thing.
