Dear Users,
Has anyone found a solution, suggest a solution for
autoloading slmodemd upon boot. Using a terminal and
running system-config-services, I can see that
slmodemd is listed in the list. I do as su - root,
lsmod and see that slamr is running

[olivares@localhost ~]$ su - root

[root@localhost ~]# lsmod

2.9.10 Dec 18 2004 08:01:11
symbolic link `/dev/ttySL0' -> `/dev/pts/3' created.
modem `slamr0' created. TTY is `/dev/pts/3'
Use `/dev/ttySL0' as modem device, Ctrl+C for
termination.

and all I have to do is run slmodemd so that I can
surf the internet. I have modified slmodemd in
/etc/init.d/slmodemd to modprobe slamr and it works.
However, /dev/ttySL0 is not found so I have to type
slmodemd as root on the terminal and now I can surf
the internet. I have tried using command udevinfo -a
-p /dev/ttySL0 but it gives

[olivares@localhost ~]$ udevinfo -a -p /dev/ttySL0
couldn't get the class device
[olivares@localhost ~]$ udevinfo -a -p
/usr/sbin/slmodemd
couldn't get the class device
[olivares@localhost ~]$

It would be helpful and useful to many users of Fedora
Core and Linux in general if we can find a workaround
for this problem.

Thanks,

Antonio
