Hi

works besides sound.

The onboard card is recognized. Output of the lspci lists:

(ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03) 0

the moduls are also there lsmod lists:

snd_pcm_oss 47608 0 snd_mixer_oss 17217 2 snd_pcm_oss
snd_pcm 97993 2 snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm_oss
snd_timer 29765 1 snd_pcm
snd_page_alloc 9673 2 snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm
gameport 4801 1 snd_intel8x0
snd_mpu401_uart 8769 1 snd_intel8x0

Edit this file /opt/hotplug/blacklist

add this line to the end of the above file: snd_intel8x0m

Now make sure you have the newest kernel installed. Which you should have if you ran up2date or a yum update.

reboot your machine. sound should work once the system is back online. You will want to run alsamixer to check the sound levels.

I have done this on 2 machines that both have the intel sound cards and it solved the issues on both.
