Hi, Did that and rebooted, now the card is picked up on startup and installed. I now have a file: /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 But when I type ifconfig I still only get the loopback address. What did one of the replies mean by: "then edit the new profile and it should work" Where is "the new profile"? TIA. Andoni. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Waldemar Jankowski" <waldemar@xxxxxxxxxxx> Newsgroups: gmane.linux.redhat.fedora.general Sent: Monday, December 13, 2004 4:21 PM Subject: Re: Network Card Installation FC3 > > On Mon, 13 Dec 2004, Andoni wrote: > > > Hello, > > > > I have just added an old ISA PnP 3Com network card to my newly installed FC3 machine. > > > > Kudzu seems to have picked up and installed the card fine but when I do "ifconfig" it only has the loopback address. > > > > When I do "ping 192.XXX.XXX.XXX" I get an error of "Network is Unreachable". > > > > What do I have to do next to get the card to work? > > > > In the directory /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts there is a file called ifcfg-lo but none called ifcfg-eth0.
