I saw a recnt post about FC 3 hanging with an ATI Radeon 7500 video card. Perhaps that's my trouble. All the boxes I've reported problems on (with FC 2 and FC 3) have that card.
Are there others who've had the same problem?
Could the card be the culprit?
Any thoughts on a decent but cheap video card to use with dual AMD and FC 3 smp kernel?

The card was a problem when I tried a Radeon 7200. The card would work with the vesa driver but locked up when attempting to start the GUI w/ the radeon driver.
There are several bug reports regarding this problem. I got rid of my card, so I cannot tell you if the problem still exists.
I can't suggest any worthy card types to bypass the problem though.
One thought that has occurred to me is related to the nofb option. Could you add this option to the kernel? I believe earlier posts described lockups related to needing the no framebuffer option. I have not tried the option when I had the card. Others might know more about other video card options depending on your intended video usage.
