on a Dell Laptop [ it has a floppy but No cdrom]

I must have typed in the same erroneous password twice.. go figure?

Many thanks in advance

Johnny

Johnny,

Boot into single user mode (by specifying the keyword 'single' as a
bootloader option) and change root password from there

eg. kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.8-1.521 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet single

Hi,

Just curious...

1) Won't he need the actual password to change it?
2) If not, is there any way to recover/find out the previous (erroneous) password?

Thanks,
