When connecting a large (500GB) Firewire disk to FC3 I always get messages like this:
kernel: scsi10 : SCSI emulation for IEEE-1394 SBP-2 Devices
kernel: ieee1394: sbp2: Logged into SBP-2 device

After all this the disk seems to work as expected. fdisk shows it like this:
# fdisk -l /dev/sda
Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500118699520 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60802 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 1 60802 488392033+ 83 Linux
These messages do not appear when connecting smaller disks.
Are these messages merely cosmetic or should I avoid using this disk for backups for example? There are no further error messages when using the disk for storing large (200GB+) files.
