gtkpod is a great program -- the only major feature it's missing
(IMHO) is smart playlists.  That and the fact that it takes a long
time to redraw the display when updating a large list of songs are its
only negatives as far as I'm concerned.

Other than the smart playlists and no access to iTMS, it's a pretty
decent replacement for iTunes.
