> I hadn't realised you can't boot the latest kernels. Where does it > stop booting ? > Well, thanks for the attention... What actually happens depends on the BIOS settings regarding Cool and Quiet... If it's disabled, when I try to boot the kernel I get the "BIOS Error" message I mentioned... As soon as the rhgb initallization is over, the screen gets all sort of messed up, and i guess X freezes, and I have to reboot... When cool and quiet is enabled, instead of the "No PSB" message, I get "ph2 null fid transition 0xe"... and the system freezes at the same point as before... I tried to boot @ initlevel 3, but I got a kernel panic error (which I really can't remember, I didn't spend some time on it, as I need the machine working)... BTW, do you think I should let the kernel developers know about this? -- Thiago dos Santos Guzella Electrical Enginnering Student - UFMG (www.ufmg.br), Brazil Linux User #354160 UIN: 13465286.
