For what it's worth, the stanza

title Windows 98
    rootnoverify (hd0,0)
    chainloader /bootsect.dos

in /boot/grub/grub.conf will probably boot Windows 98 (the NT bootloader
almost certainly is on your C:\ , which grub almost certainly thinks is
hd0,0 , and it almost certainly will have the file /bootsect.dos that
the 2K installer put there to let it boot Windows 98).
