Ran into this link this evening 

# ll /usr/include/gnome-xml/libxml
....Nov 17 23:31 /usr/include/gnome-xml/libxml -> .

Is this an oversight that should be posted in bugzilla or is there a 
valid use for this self-referencing construction?  It seems a bug 
to me but .....
